This adoption announcement really shows how we take a customer's photos and make the most of them when combining them with text. It's a fun design challenge to incorporate a lot of details, yet keep a clean, organized look!

photo adoption announcement

It's really fall! And while the thermometer says it is 54 degrees outside, try telling that to my frozen fingers. I'm so cold! This isn't a good sign. I'm trying to tell myself the cold is "refreshing" rather than painful. It's not quite working. I wonder how long it will take my body to figure out I'm not in Atlanta anymore! In the meantime, we're stocking up on wood for the fireplace and I'm thinking electric blankets might be a good investment.
And to help me think of warm days, a photo adoption announcement featuring photos taken on a beach! A warm, sandy, sunny beach. Ahh...perhaps if I close my eyes...

adoption announcement

Here is little Ava Wu's adoption announcement! Isn't she precious. The picture, taken in China, reminded me of a friends referral image. Their baby, Hannah (now 3, wow!), looked just like a little marshmallow, wearing a padded winter suit. Too cute! These referral images are so amazing to me. I can imagine what it is like waiting...and waiting...and then finally one day being able to see the first image of your daughter or son. What an absolute thrill. It was powerful seeing that first photo of Hannah, knowing what it meant to my friend. All the waiting was coming to an end.
For Ava, we incorporated some Chinese characters into the design. Think about how we can add these types of details to your own one-of-a-kind adoption design to make it even more unique and meaningful for you. We love special requests!

Russia Adoption Announcement for Jacqueline

This photo adoption announcement was designed for little Jacqueline and her family. The colors in the photo were beautiful, so the design remained in color. I brighted up the original photos, and enhanced the colors, then cropped the photos for the best look. I love that Jacqueline seems to be looking at the inset photo of her and her brother. And the message "welcome home" is apropos. Welcome Home Jacqueline!

Adoption Announcement

Today I'll share an adoption announcement design with you.

This was done for a wonderful family in Texas. They adopted this gorgeous little boy from Guatemala City, Guatemala. The mother took a photo of a Guatemalan blanket they brought back with them. I came up with a way to incorporate the blanket into the adoption design.

First, I corrected the perspective on the blanket so the corners were square. Then, on the front of the card, I used the blanket, in black and white, for the background. And in the main photo, I corrected the color, made the image black and white, and blurred the background. Then I took the details the family wanted included in their announcement, and made them work with the photograph. On the inside of the card, I cropped another photo that I first enhanced. I added the strips of blanket on the top and bottom, and added the requested wording. For the back of the card, (not shown here) we put three additional photos, plus more of the blanket. The finished result was stunning. My hope in sharing this design is to encourage future customers to also think of ways to personalize their designs even more.
