Photo birth announcement for Colin

Sometimes you want your birth announcement to be modern. Sometimes classic. Sometimes fun. That is why custom photo birth announcements from Chouette Design Group are the way to go!
I love design. I love creating. I love transforming photos into something truly special. How am I inspired to create a new design for each baby? For me it's easy. Because I know how special that baby (or babies!) is to you. And your photo is my first inspiration.
With Colin's photo, I thought a modern design would be perfect. A sans-serif font, in blue ... with a touch of script in the "welcome" message. Simple and to the point. I enhanced the photo by first correcting the lighting and clarity --- then I blurred and lightened the background even more. I liked the "ethereal" feeling that was achieved.
I'll be working on another special photo birth announcement soon -- an announcement for a friend of mine who gave birth to quadruplets a month ago. With three babies home, and the fourth due home next week, you can imagine how her life has changed. I've enjoyed spending time with the babies, feeding them, talking to them. And talk about inspiration! I will have four new muses. And lots of photos of crazy-cute baby feet! You'll see some favorites from "aunt Lisa" posted here from time to time.
That's it for now --- I hope you are staying cool!

Lochlain's photo birth announcement

It seems that others have been inspired by nature this summer as well. Birth announcement orders are coming in that include baby photos that were taken outside. In baskets, on baskets, laying on the grass, laying on a fluffy blanket, surrounded by flowers ... so cute. And here, a photo of a baby in an old, hollowed out tree. Simply divine. I fell in love with the original photo --- what gorgeous colors! -- and was so excited to work with it. Coupled with an apropos poem ...simply perfect.
In this photo, you'll see that I added the leaf (taken from another photo), "removed" the arm at the bottom of the photograph, and positioned the photo to give the best impact. Once I have the baby positioned perfectly within the frame, I work to fit the details in such a way that they add to the photograph, not detract. In design, there can be a fine line between too much and perfect. Part of it is your own aesthetic. I'm not one for overdone. Not in anything really --- I like "just enough" the best. It feels good to my eye. I want everything about your announcement to lead to a simple "wow". I want everything about your design to be simply perfect. There isn't one thing you'd add, or one thing you'd take away. Good design ...it makes me happy!

Photo birth announcement for Sidney

How I love flowers! I thought this was such a great idea for spring and summer photo taking. The garden, of course! Flowers not plentiful enough? Never fear; I will add more! Dirt showing? I can hide it! This photo birth announcement for Sidney is the epitome of summer. Wouldn't you agree?
I was thinking of how you could place your baby in the garden to take photos. You could set your baby in a big basket, lined with a comfortable blanket. Or you could hold the baby up, and use the flowers in the background. I'm remembering a birth announcement I did last summer, or perhaps it was the summer before. Another flower garden photo. That photo was taken with the baby in front of a rose garden. The colors were just beautiful. And although some of the close up rose petals were wilted, I fixed them to look perfect. I will try to locate that design to share with you.
In the meantime, I hope the beginning of summer finds you enjoying the longer days and the warm sun. I've been trying to read more; a favorite pasttime of mine that seems to go by the wayside when I am (too?) busy. Perhaps I will pencil "book time" into my calendar...and sit out on the porch and enjoy my own small (but growing!) garden.

making photos better

Improving photographs is a great passion of mine, and it truly sets me apart from any other announcement website on the internet.
Consider this: When you hire a professional photographer, they use special lights and equipment to get the excellent results you require when you hire a photographer. Plus they touch-up the photos you purchase. When you take your own photos, however, images can look a bit flat or dull. This is no fault of your own; we just don't carry around lighting umbrellas! And your camera certainly can't enhance a photo itself; this must be done by hand by a skilled artist. That is where I come in!
Every birth announcement, adoption announcement, and other announcement order I complete includes professional enhancement. Even on the most beautiful photo, there are things I do to take it to the next level. Maybe it's simply color-correction, and lightening under-eye shadows and removing a little blemish. But it can also be toning down red or yellow skin, making bumpy skin smooth, or adding more hair. This example shown here shows cute Nate. The original photo is adorable of course. But it can still be improved! Now you can see Nate's gorgeous blue eyes. And his skin is brighter, more luminous. And this is my passion! A frequent customer comment is "you made my baby look like an angel!". Which to me, is success. To make gorgeous babies even more gorgeous.

Photo birth announcement for Grey
Here is a birth announcement design I just completed for the Davis family. I enhanced the image, removing unwanted shadows & blemishes and "removing" stray threads on her outfit. Then I made the image black and white and colored her dress (and the stuffed animal) light pink. Simple birth details highlight this sweet photo.Labels: creative birth announcements, photo birth announcements

Photo birth announcement for Nicholas

This is a recent photo birth announcement design I created. I receive lots of requests to include siblings in new baby announcements - many even make the introduction themselves.
For this design, I decided to create a very classic look by darkening the background of the main photo. I was able to do this because the original photo wasn't light to begin with. I don't cut out the image from the background as this usually doesn't give the most natural appearance.
My goal is always to make the photo look like it could have been taken by a professional photographer in a controlled environment, even if it was really taken in the kitchen, while trying to make dinner, answer the phone, and pick up the pacifier that just flew to the floor!
